I don't like craziness

It really perturbs me when it comes to the criminals in the financial industry.

Take a look

A 'Social Networking' Stock Has Exploded 25,000% In A Few Days, And It's Not Even Clear If The Company Exists

The company's stock, which the folks at ZeroHedge first alerted us to, has gone from $0.10 on June 17 to $14.71 as of Wednesday's close. At its current stock price, the company's market cap is $4.29 billion.

This is a gain of more than 24,000%. For some perspective, Apple, one of the most successful companies and stocks of the last generation, is up about 18,000% since it went public in 1980.

But there is, as you could imagine, a slight problem with CYNK: It's not clear if there's any value to it.

Crumbs investor: How I plan to save bakery

Crumbs secured financing from a joint venture between Lemonis, Chairman and CEO of Camping World and Good Sam Enterprises and star of CNBC's "The Profit," and Fischer Enterprises-a prelude to its ultimate goal of buying its assets out of bankruptcy and reopening.

"While I'm a fan of the cupcake, I don't believe that any business can make it singularly on one product and so the goal ultimately is really to have it carry multiple products whether it's pies, cookies, ice cream, cake, a variety of things because as things kind of move in and out of popularity, we want to be able to be nimble," he said in a "Power Lunch" interview Monday.

Trump Plaza in Atlantic City to close

Trump Plaza employs about 1,000 people, according to regulatory reports.

The seashore casino is one of the poorest performers in Atlantic City, which began the year with 12 casinos. Trump Plaza booked less than half its rooms in the first quarter of 2014, and had the lowest gaming revenue of any of the city's casinos in May, according to state documents.

Its expected closure follows a series of blows for Atlantic City, and would mean the city would have a third fewer casinos than at the start of the year.

The Atlantic Club casino was sold and shut down in January. Showboat, one of Atlantic City's largest properties, has announced it will close at the end of August. The $2.4 billion Revel casino, the city's newest, has said it could close Aug. 18 if a buyer is not found.

It's amazing how people invest in volitional things, and some things that never should have been listed as a public commodity.

People who create functional business, then listen to financial people who dupe them into over expanding, over leveraging, and then over stocking and basing their business on a stock ticker which is driven by speculation.

It's unlikely to change because people still believe in get rich quick programming.

I didn't know you two also trading stocks. I am in stock market too.

Social media and bio-tech are very volatile sectors. I take a look of CYNK chart as you mentioned here. OMG, from $0.06 to $21.95 in 17 trading days. This is insane. I don't have it and won't pay attention of it.

I have IEP (Icahan Enterprises) at average of $95.62 but it is at very narrow range side way trading. I can't sell or buy it, so hold it. My LULU average price at $44.36 average price is a loser stock.

I used to have TWTR 7,000 shares but took profits at $42, so I only have 2,300 shares at "make even" price of $31.60. I had FB at $24, $25, but sold too soon at $34+. I used to have lots of AAPL but took profits too soon, made $20,000+ profits. AAPL will report earning on next Tuesday, July 22. I don't have any AAPL now.

I have YHOO but it reported earning yesterday, missed 1 cent EPS. I have YHOO in anticipate of Alibaba ipo (BABA). YHOO owns 24% of Alibaba. I am holding YHOO till BABA debut ipo.

What do you think about my portfolio? Can you give me some advices?

I have KMP that reported earning today aftermarket. According to Briefing, KMP reported EPS $0.43 vs. estimate of $0.58, missed $0.15 so price plummeted. KMP has good dividends.
I used to have 1,840 shares of KMP, took profits, now only 600 shares.

Stock market is volatile and unpredictable, very difficult.

I am shorting SPY (S&P 500 index ETF). However, Chair Yellen dovish on interest rate, so market kept going higher. I am in trouble shorting it. I bought put contracts, not really shorting it.

I would not propose to give you advice, but I can say, that Yahoo, because of its stake in Alibaba will do well. The expansive market that Alibaba has it a interesting factor, If you look at the range of product that Alibaba handles, and then think of the long term history of Yahoo's presence. the combination may work very well, both in the domestic market and the international market. I'd watch to see what % stake they will set for their IP0, it's certain that Yahoo at this juncture will want to hold as much close to their chest as possible, but they have to throw in something to help the game plan. Either way, Yahoo will profit handsomely. Yahoo has a good platform, if they stop playing with their webpage image and get rid of some of the video driven articles, they may keep more patrons, but they also will have to get better journalistic people, who actually do quality research for the articles posted. They may have to shift some of their junk programming, to a "lifestyle page", if they want to avoid becoming a novelty site. It's for definite their advertising will step up with the push from Alibaba, but they will also have to find a way to maintain and keep their privacy stability and they need to invest in better network streaming as their video articles load too slow and the intrusive ads at the beginning may need to be re-evaluated.

I bought some ATML and RFMD when it was around $1. it now trades at ATML is 8.95 and RFMD is 9.89 , I also bought some SIRI but I bought it when it was XM Radio, but SIRI bought out XM. It's a standard offering in a variety of new automobiles, it has a big contender in other web radio now, but I don't think they will vanish. SIRI was trading in 2012 at less 1.xx it now is at 3.42 it's projected to do 4.21

ATML makes chips that are used in touch screen displays (check out the major holder) Touchscreen chipmaker Atmel Corp said it would buy Newport Media, a maker of low-power Wi-Fi and bluetooth gear, for $140 million to gain ground in a technology that helps connect everything through the Internet. With the deal, the chipmaker joins a list of semiconductor companies that are acquiring technologies to position themselves for the trend known as the Internet of Things.

RFMD- makes cellular and radio frequency items. Some companies use RFID tags to track inventory and shipping products, eventually it will become more of a standard, because mitigating inventory loss is becoming bigger and bigger investment areas.

Unfortunately for me, I did not buy enough to make a matter in terms of good profit gains. So I just sit on what I have, because its not enough to worry about.

I believe in the process of 'Long term holding", this is why for me it is better to look at the industry which the company services and consider the necessity of their products as well as how they keep pace with emerging tech. They are not mass consumer product producers, they supply industry, so they are not going to go through the roof, but those they supply can maximize sales, it means these companies maximize as well in the chain to improve their performance. These are just my thoughts These type of business are not speculator driven, they have to focus on hard production, great innovation and addressing their sales market with quality standard components to substantiate their value.

The stock market used to be notorious in Sept., Oct. and Nov. but NOT since winter of 2012. There were no correction over 5% for the past 20 months. It is very weird. That's why I am shorting (buy "Put" contracts) SPY. I have 86 Put order which equals shorting SPY 8,600 shares pus shorting 200 shares = 8,800 shares.

Aftermarket today, SNDK, LVS, KMP, YUM, EBAY reported earnings. They all go down big except EBAY. SNDK down $20+, LVS down $2+, KMP down $2+, YUM also down $2+. I think S&P will go down. A healthy correction will be good for the stock market. The bull market has been too long.

My banker friend has lots of LVS that he bought in 2009 when it was under $5, recent high was $88+. I told him to sell since $82.48, but he won't. But he bought under $5, so he is Okay to hold. I have been telling him to sell LVS since it was $25+, but he didn't. So, he has been right for a long time with lots of profits.

I am NOT a "long term holder" but not day-trader either. I am a swing trader depend on quarterly earning reports.

You are far more adept at this. I don't have the resources to invest therefore my investment to learn more is limited.
I do however try and follow to get some perspective of the over speculative values being spread around.

If i was a highly active investor, I'd certain devote time to learn more in-depth about the variables .

It's good you stay on top of managing your own investments.

Correction: SNDK dropped $12 NOT $20. I bought 86 put contracts of SPY plus (NOT pus, typo) 200 shares shorting = 8,800 shares shorting SPY.

I think S&P 500 index will drop because the earning reports are NOT good.

I had taken care of my mom for 5 years, no pharmacy will hire me because I was out so many years. My mom passed and I took over her stock account too. My account is "margin account", I have to watch carefully. My mom account is CASH account, no margin calls.

I do better with "Real Estate" properties investments.

I covered 600 shares shorting of SPY before the bad news about Malaysia Airline with 295 passengers and 15 crews has been shot down today.

My shorting of SPY (S&P 500 index ETF) 8,800 shares unexpectedly make profits today.

Stay out of Russia and Ukraine and don't book Malaysia Airline. The plane was shot down by missile, but don't know who shot that missile to a commercial airline with 295 passengers and 15 crews.

We haven't found the Malaysia airplane missing mysteriously on 3/8/2014, today another tragedy. Is Malaysia Airline ominous?

The world seems to be spiraling toward self destruct. nations upon nation in havoc and chaos driven by the conflicts born of greed. We have this tragedy, and of all the countries with all the challenges, we have the ignorance of right wing madness, drumming up any kind of drams to keep conflict going. rather than to focus on fixing problems. Not one issue created by Republican Madness over 8 yrs under Bush have the Republican done anything to help fix. Then they bicker because President Obama tries to fix stuff.
It's crazy conflict that may lead up to global conflict of War, when you think of the stupidity of N. Korea, the Conflict of China and Japan, then China and Viet Nam and Russian and Ukrainian conflict. The various conflict within Africa, to the conflict in Thailand.
It seems there is just no end to the ignorance of mankind.

Yes, the whole world is in a chaos. Russia and Ukraine, Israel launched fire in Gaza, Portuguese bank in crisis, Iraq and Afghanistan, a crazy eye MD as president in Syria kills his own people, .... China has millions of buildings are vacant (inventory), Japan tried to recover from earthquake/Tsunami/Nuclear leaking and typhoon, .....

Our FOMC Chair Yellen will keep the interest rate low, so stock market kept going higher and higher. Just this morning, Dow Jones went higher to another new all-time high, I thought I am dead that shorting so much SPY. However, I am a contrarian, so I was about to short even more.

To my surprise, the bad news came out that Malaysia Airline crashed in Ukraine. The stock market took a nose-dive cascade dropped to the end of day. I covered some shorting for profits. This is the first time, I have so much profits so fast.

No guts, no glory. I have guts to short SPY 8,800 shares.

Why Malaysia Airline again? Is Malaysia Airline ominous?

My banker friend will travel to Russia on Sept 11, 2014 for vacation. When I emailed him abut the bad news, he replied "Oooooops, I am going to Russia on Sept 11. My visa and tickets are ready. ....."

Market is very resilient, rebound from yesterday's bad news.

It seems "Pro-Russian Separatists" shot down Malaysia airplane yesterday. Obama will increase sanction level to Russia. Israel continues to fire in Gaza. An analyst said on CNBC said "These geographic disturbance is short-term". I doubt it. I cover 18 put contracts yesterday, today I bought 12 put contracts again, continue to short SPY.

It is NOT I am pessimistic on U.S. market, but I felt our market can't ignore the turmoils around us. I think yesterday's tragedy is just a"waking call" for our market. There are more to come.

FYI, I made lots of money on Twitter (TWTR). It reported good earning and jumped 20% aftermarket. I sold lots of shares for profits. TWTR closing price is $38.59, but aftermarket highest price was $53.65. I am very happy. I used to own 7,000 shares of TWTR at one point. But sold $42 for profits and held 2,300 shares. I sold aftermarket and still keep 500 shares.

I finally covered all my 9,400 shares shorting SPY (92 put contracts plus 200 shorting) and made profits. I was worry the market will keep going up. Shorting is more scaring.
