Chinese unmanned spacecraft lands on moon! 喜大普奔 ....

向所有航天工作者致敬。。。

News from yahoo...
-----------------------------------

By Pete Sweeney

SHANGHAI (Reuters) - China landed an unmanned spacecraft on the moon on Saturday, state media reported, in the first such "soft-landing" since 1976, joining the United States and the former Soviet Union in managing to accomplish such a feat.

The Chang'e 3, a probe named after a lunar goddess in traditional Chinese mythology, is carrying the solar-powered Yutu, or Jade Rabbit buggy, which will dig and conduct geological surveys.

China has been increasingly ambitious in developing its space programs, for military, commercial and scientific purposes.

It has moved in lock step with its emergence as a major global economic and political power.

"The dream for lunar exploration once again lights up the China Dream," Xinhua news agency said in a commentary.

In its most recent manned space mission in June, three astronauts spent 15 days in orbit and docked with an experimental space laboratory, part of Beijing's quest to build a working space station by 2020.

The official Xinhua news service reported that the spacecraft had touched down in the Sinus Iridum, or the Bay of Rainbows, after hovering over the surface for several minutes seeking an appropriate place to land.

A soft landing does not damage the craft and the equipment it carries. In 2007, China put another lunar probe in orbit around the moon, which then executed a controlled crash on to its surface.

China Central Television (CCTV) broadcast images of the probe's location on Saturday and a computer generated image of the probe on the surface of the moon on its website. The probe and the rover are expected to photograph each other tomorrow.

The Bay of Rainbows was selected because it has yet to be studied, has ample sunlight and is convenient for remote communications with Earth, Xinhua said.

The rover will be remotely controlled by Chinese control centers with support from a network of tracking and transmission stations around the world operated by the European Space Agency (ESA).

For more than a decade, China has been modernizing its economy and developing in areas long dominated by the West particularly the United States.

The moon landing will be seen as a demonstration of China's ability to engage in sophisticated space operations with dual use potential.

China is also developing its own satellite system to rival the U.S. GPS system and has sold satellites to other countries.

The landing will also be a point of national pride in the country, which is undergoing difficult economic transitions.

If you note, you addressed me first as to commentary discussions.

As to what you have done and what you have earned, congrats, I too have worked during the area when those were standard wages, and how dare you trip on your ego about your time in service, I also served my time as well, but you don't see me on here bragging about it.

what I look like has nothing to do with a discussion in a blog.
I don't have a as you say .. problem with white people.... in general..
I do however know that just as you, many white people hate like hell for the reality of what they deny to be brought to discussion, and certainly nothing about the historical generational mentalities within that generational history.
You can choose and seek to deny anything and everything, it does not change the facts about anything.
Just as you want to have this commy liberal natured comment, only proves that you aspire the depiction of the Confederate Right Wing mentality of which I discussed in reference to ideologies.

Yes, I do believe in Liberal, society, as well as a society that has a civility of socialism in the process of being a society.
But you'd probably get hung up on the word, socialism", because you can't wrap your mind around the fact that every system of governance in civil community is a form of a socialistic communion of community.

As to whom ever you are calling lazy asses, you probably should review and learn the status of who is the largest pool of users of social services, and when it reflects what you want to deny, you'd probably shut up with that type of inferring aims that you seek to sling about.

enjoy your blogging postings and it might be a mindful thing to remember that if you don't want rebuttal, then maybe you should not post.....

I disagree with your summation

for one with President Obama took over, there was no way possible for him to go into some massive support of NASA expenditure wqhen the functional economic was in such dire conditions, it was beneficial to pursue Clean Coal and to address the run way power of Oil companies. as well as focus on alternative energy as an economic uplift mechanism. Geez.

Maybe you by selective choice ignored what the nature of National Economic downfall was, nor being mindful of the multiple 10's of trillions of dollars of losses both domestic and Internationally which has existed.. Nor are you even mentioning the fact that Foreign nations were furious at the War destabilization of the previous 10 yrs did to Global relations as well as the massively unprecedented Wall Street Fraud that was promoted globally which cost many nations 10's of trillions of dollars in the expanse of its impact.

Maybe you even are not acknowledging the European Crisis which followed of the near destabilization of Greece and many other places which bought into the Wall Street Sell the Kitchen Sink and claim it is made of gold, and these nations found out it was nothing more than painted lead. which proved worthless. which resulted in countless trillions which vanished. Bill Clintion asked the questions as to what happen to 65 Trillion of Value, during the criminal downfall of major too big to fail enterprises and the assets they previously claimed as core value.. This is not to mention how much has been carted off shores and hidden in offshore accounts. Maybe you ignored that Moody's was exposed for collusive Bond ratings, as A paper when it was filled with non performing securities... Or you ignored the fact that Real Estate securities were packaged and traded as over excessive rates and people buying Credit defalt insurance and Credit default swaps which were meat to cover themselves when the ball came crashing down, It's so much that you seem to ignore.

Even medical, when middle white Americans had JOB SPONSORED MEDICAL they would never have supported any National Medical program, but when Unemployment spiraled out of control and Industrial Failure and Industrial benefit denial as well as escalated co pays, along with service denials, by insurance companies and gouging by pharmaceutical companies posed a severe threat, then the middle America suddenly found some truth that led them to understand the need for medical care reforms. But you also ignored that the Right Wingers who support big medical industry, big insurance and big banks are reliant on insurance underwriting, lead the right wing to gut the program of some progressive program elements and what resulted was a program that is good but does not include many of its initial aims, due to republican blockages. But that does not mean that as time passes the waking up and awareness of people will usher these elements back into the program, now that the program is law.

You seem to sound like you aspire to Fox News, Hannity, Limbaugh and the Ann Counter, Sarah Palin ideology. which not only is disregarding to the nature of American Masses, but believes only in the wealthy getting more of what President Bush gave which was tax cut and tax dodge mechanism time after time.

Maybe you are unaware to learn of what is a living wage, and what is an indenturing wages. Maybe to learn what is the American standard, and what is the Poverty level wage per capita for family structure. As well as understanding how much localized tax based was lost by the promotion of a run away market that sold sliding scale mortgages, and then based trading on the delusion that these securities would product at an escalating rate... which was impossible when the Industrial sector was collapsing and jobs were becoming scarse and the wage rate declined rather than increased... But I'm certain none of these things matter much, when you focus on Fox Media Mentality reporting.

Maybe you are even unaware that the Republican Party nearly imploded when it was exposed for these things they did over the previous 8 yrs under President Bush, then the usher in of the Tea Party when their bigotry and racist ideology could not fathom a black president speaking about economic equilibrium... Maybe you are unaware that the system post segregation as well as what backed segregation was a disdain for even the thought of economic equilibrium for women, and minorities, and relied on the lack of education of the poor whites to lean on nothing but rebel rally calls and false drama arousing rhetoric that gave them fear that that their aim of white supremacy delusions would provide form them and give them uplift. Of which a system of Economic Equilibrium does not cater to nor support some white supremacist economic imbalance in favor of whites over all others.

Now with all this going on, how do you support high expenditure in a space program? But on the higher level of Governmental system, they know which sectors of higher space tech is critical and what section is exploratory and what is the cost of exploratory as well as how much of a time frame they have to adjust to stay on the cutting edge.
Geez...

If it had not been for the stimulus, which as far less than it should have been, considering that the previous 8 years indebted this nation to a level President Bush said himself, it would be 10 yrs of more before American would or could balance a budget, and he said that in the final months of his Presidency.
As to stimulus funds, what resulted was many of the same Republicans who fought it rushed to the table to get some ONLY after they had aligned their cronie network to get the contracts. Once the contracts were attained instead of hireing the 100 workers they claimed, they hired 10 an the executives found ways to bleed off the money and use substandard materials and cut back on the proposed progress they claimed they could produce. Republican were not interested to see the employment numbers rise, nor to see any progress because it was not something they could take credit for and to them it was more beneficial to try and minimize the progress, in hope to rebuild their party image and support the smoke and mirrors they had pushed for so long.

They support the Military Industrial sector as such like McCain who wanted to stay in Iraq forever, or Dick Cheney who wanted to capture the Middle Eastern Gulf Oil region of Iran, which has 1/3 of the worlds regional crude in the Middle East as well as borders the Strait of Hormuz. This is not to mention the crude In Iraq is the thickest within the Middle Eastern region. but this itself is a whole discussion if we indulge to explore it.

Re distribution is the most mis-understood aspect, because one thing is certain, whites in western society never wanted ECONOMIC equilibrium for minorities, and what re-distributions entails is fair opportunity for all... but white society does not want to give up the strangle hold it has on industrial leadership position nor any ground in any area of position where they have the ability to manipulate economic functional process. When it comes to publicly traded companies, this should have never been something that is white dominated and white controlled. because they are "public traded companies" not private individual owned enterprises. But not only did white society not want to recolonize or support SOCIAL equality, they were dead set against anything that even implied or implies ECONOMIC equality... so the word 're distribution to many whites, is to them the ignorance of their fears of having equality within the economic spectrum. They want to use republican ignorance to spread some delusion that someone will come and take their money.. When the point is equal taxation, equality opportunity, equal funding accessibility, equal distribution of grand research funds and every other kind of funding, to be equally distributed without concern of race or gender. But the ignorance of Republican Right Wing thinking want to throw smoke and bull-crap because they have never aspired to economic equilibrium for women and minorities, nor have they cared to see uplift among the poor whites in economic equilibrium in massive volume and widespread across this nation.

Shortly after the Independence of American, the elite whites wanted to compete and create a faux system of Western American styel royalty which meant that mass of the people would be indentured servants, slaves and moderate middle men traders and merchants who would be the middle class.

But to try and get many right winger to think this deep is again like trying to pick "fly poop" from a stack of ground black pepper.

In summary, I disagree with your summation.
As to wage structure, it is a system of Political madness that made and supported Civic support practitioners into a subservient faction of civil system, with poor pay structure and unequal led insurance coverage and disability compensations among many other things denied and or provided on a token and limited basis.
No different than a slave owner claiming all proceeds for himself, and using minimal profits for the benefits and economic viability of the support system of which he relied on to enrich himself.

I do however think there will be a time for some universal things in space.

The mere fact of the Universal Space Station is an example. Mankind is learning more and more how connected we are as opposed to how individual we once thought our nations to be.

Economics has crossed divides that political ideology once would have deemed impossible, during the Democracy Vs Communism.... but today... economic fusions has surpassed that concept far and beyond, both by imbalances in trade and the debt buying as well as the reliance on export purchases. The placement of industry in foreign lands by foreign entities.

These things can't be unraveled so easily without widespread economic collapses on multiple land masses of continents. These leaders know this. they also know, currency valuation is a matter that supports a system of the strong leading the weaker... these valuation won't find any equilibrium as to single value system, for many decades, beacause we have too many places that are yet undeveloped and too many of the developed places with problems unfolding they had not anticipated to be the extent of which they have become. We still WITHIN each land have conflicting ideological positions, politically, racially and economically,

The distrust exist, but it is related more to Leadership ... but when it comes to goals, the diplomacy is underway, on many fronts, from global warming, to global economic system, to data sharing and what data is sharable, to mutual collaborations on things that are far from the eyes of the public at the technical arena's of higher governmental processes.

Recently it was published that the US had hacked into many Chinese computer equipment that was sold to high level US operations, of which the Chinese had hidden code which allowed it to siphon off info, so there are many things going on... but when it comes to the expanse of Space.... It is a level of knowledge that by some means translates across spectrum's.... by what means I don't know... but it does.

Look at the history of tech, and how it has moved about from country to country and each over times 'learns" how to make contributions to its improvements, or the functional usages in many applications.

It's slow but by many means the world is moving toward Unity far beyond what the secular national publicity will disclose to the massive general public.

Look at N. Korea
after the recent execution of Kim's Uncle, his next declaration was of building infrastructure of notable statures, then next came his want to soften his relations with S. Korea... He will by means move through his organization and slowly find ways to move the old hard liners, because what we forget to acknowledge... This young man grew up with Western Educational Experience and collaborations with students from many places, so his ideological global knowledge far exceeds that of his predecessors. He can't do an immediate flip, for many reasons, some economic and some because he has to find a way to bring his people along, You can't just dump open reforms and think chaos would not follow, so liberties has to be slowly managed in some areas and expedited in other areas, both on the localized level as well as on the global level.
China is pushing to be seen different in global power terms but also China is looking to be seen in favorable terms of nation support growth, like it is pursuing on many fronts on foreign lands. Therefore it has to be putting the pressures on many area of N. Korean methodology of how it will transform and how it will adapt to become part of global growth.
These are very big things... by no means is any aspect of as simple as we may surmise, but it is by and through process that such things come to make and find means to change.

Look at the world and what has changed in the past 50-60 years. these things were not even believable by leaders many years ago to be capable of reaching the interactions they have in this day and time.

The Middle East, the rebellions of the people for the want of freedoms was not even a thinkable things 25-30 yrs ago, yet, it a matter of 2-3-4 yrs, they have made changes to many nations and over the past 10 yrs, the conceptual structure of Middle Eastern System has met change is is changing drastically more than we can realize,.....

What we may need to caution ourselves against is... Drama seeking Media News" where it is designed to inflame, agitate and push drama sequences to garner viewers, by manufactured conflicting commentary. because these organizations have become conglomerates who have turned from reporting, to focusing on 'advertiser income, and to get advertiser income one has to create drama to attract viewers.
If you note, they fill the seats with what every celebrity they can get who will step from a waning career into being a pundit. they hawk products, they hawk everything they can by the guest and programming, which has turned it into one of the biggest Media based Corporate Advertising Systems one can imagine... supported by big insurance and big pharmacy, as major players, big banking and the promotion of anything that is consumer popular within the frame of this time.
They dominate, TV screens, social media sites, micro blogging and every other form of media, and any company that comes up with another method to push sales by any means, they snap it up and turn it into an arm of their machine process of income generation...

The individual must be today more discerning of what they see, what they hear and what they adapt themselves unto, when it comes to punditry commentary as well as political posturing rhetoric.

No; my comment has nothing to do with what you wrote.

I am addressing the curiosity of mankind, as with all nations; when their economic means improve they will improved the expanse of their want and interest to explore. I don't know how or why it would apply to face saving or not. nor do I see how that is much of a matter, when it comes to the 'sense of exploration within mankind'.

Therefore, I started my comment with a common truth.
" no nation has a lock on ..... "

no nation has a lock on curousity about space and other planets and such... people from every place about the world have wondered about space and when they can and if they could, every nation would be pursuing some aspect of space explorations..

The real fact is, each one will learn something in common as well as something different, and the collective of information will be the basis of what become universal space knowledge base.

We can't claim anyone else wasted money, if we don't consider we too wasted money. yes there are many things that could be done with the money...
but because of research and technology born of research, many other things become advanced as well.

The good thing is, no single nation has a claim on any planet in the universe... and the fact is... no single nation will ever get a single claim to any planet in the universe.... not can any nation change the fact that other nations will continue to explore ....

Why don't we learn from how each other uses technology, and it may improve all our ways of using technology.... In the science community, they see things far different than those of us in the non scientific society groups.

There will be much conjecture, and many proposed summaries, and over time many of those conjecture and summaries will continue to change, because there is more to know than any single group can gather to know.... so... collectively .... we may find we all learn more by the efforts of each respective nation to learn more about space.

Wonderful achievement for China. Financed in large part by Americans and other countries buying Chinese goods. I can only hope this might spur some interest in the US expanding it's own space program, like we did when the Russians launched Sputnik. But Americans seem more interested in bearded duck hunters, or watching Star Trek then actual space exploration. Love the cute romantic names Chinese give their outer space things, like Jade Rabbit.

Interesting -- space exploration is a continuing pursuit of many nations who can afford to invest in this pursuit.
