Greenhouse Effect and the Little Ice Age

I used to think Greenhouse Effect means the weather would have been getting warmer and warmer globally. However I know I totally got it wrong now. I read a theory that says that Greenhouse effect actually means the abnormal climate, especially the extreme weather would occur more frequently than before.

How stupid I was! No wonder I feel the weather has been getting colder and colder instead of warmer and warmer in winter in recent years.

Also read a viewpoint says that the world experiences a Little Ice Age about every other 500 years according to the study of the history. And now it's almost time for a new Little Ice Age to come. The extremely cold weather that Americans are suffering from now might be the sign of it....

Does anybody have more scientific viewpoints about the abnormal weather?

I leave no trace of wings in the air, but I am glad I have had my flight. ---- Rabindranath Tagore

Ok, after all those long explinations, the corporate owned news media giving all sorts of conflicting stories, for me, here is the bottom line:
The polar ice caps ARE MELTING! They continue to do so. Let's hope that it stops before the two polar regions thaw out and all the methane trapped for millions of years escapes and does cause a runaway greenhouse effect.

there was a show about 'sink holes" it talked about the impact of populations centering themselves in certain areas, sucking certain things out of the earth and building heavy cement things on top of the earth.

there are documentary shows that captions glaciers breaking off in sizes large than some cities, breaking up and drifting until some melt.

I personally questions the impact of 10's of thousand of Jet Engine Thrust being spewed in the atomsphere, every hour, at the force of hurricanes, and believe for sure, it cannot exist without an effect.

I'm sure that many people have heard the phrase about, a butterfly flapping its wings in one part of the world, creating a dust storm in the Saraha ....

We already know that at certain times of the year, hot air centers in the Atlantic and then come Hurricane Season, then at other times of the year the hot air amassing over the flatland, and then comes the Tornado's... It happens like clockwork every-year.

We can watch a volcano erupt and change the wealth patterns, we can watch the solar flares cause cosmic rays that affect many things by those who have the instruments to study the change in effect..
we see lakes, Sea's and the Oceans become polluted by many things in many countries. We even see people building homes in what once once a lake-bed that had dried up, and then wonder why the snow of seasons melt and cause flash floods. We've seen people excavate and result to have massive landslides either in general or by rain waters flow.
We've seen man build Dam's and change the landscape of areas down stream from the Dam.
We put catalytic converters on cars because their exhaust was damaging the upper atmosphere, yet we blast holes in the atmosphere with rockets and think there is no effect.
There are many many things happening, some we get information about now, and some that happens decades ago, that only now information come out, because the pursuit of profit held that information from being made public.

Sadly, man is very prone to deny the results of his actions especially when he has a concept that more money is to be had by denial... We have people with selective amnesia, about things they don't want to face up to... of which mankind does and has done.

But in our denials... the fact is the atmosphere continues to change and so does the conditions on earth.

Man is an insignificant insect in this universe and it is only his arrogance that makes him feel that he can affect it through his actions.

Every-living-thing in its existence is because of it's own significance... even when we don't know what that significance is.

among the living being on earth man is the most prolific in contaminating the earth. Man is also the most prolific in the extinction of species via many means from poaching to contaminants. We now have at least in many Western Nations injected so many chemical in the general animals that are part of the food programs, until we not only effect the animals, it affects the lives of man himself by many ailments.

We do agree there, as to data, there is so much we don't know. I personally am a believer that everything in the Universe has an effect on everything else in the Universe. For one, we don't know what effects many rays from the sun, and the flares and much else that happen throughout the universe.

I do think population and the actions of mankind may well push itself to a level of savagery of many sorts, that is unprecedented by anything in our history.

so much the pursuit of money has done, of which we accept because big industry tells us to accept it. But the combined effects of these many acts of aims for monetary gain and resource usage, is and will continue to become a mess. Among much of life, we try and justify as well as deny many things, for many reasons... therefore in that context, I certainly agree... that we are unaware of so much...

agree and disagree with some aspects of your perspective.

(agree) There are so many theories regarding global warming, both for and against man's involvement in it or responsibility for it, that a person could make a career out of just educating themselves,

(disagree) I usually recommend that people not try to take sides on either side of the argument,

(disagree), I feel that man's effect on this planet is negligible based on the scale of the environment.

( agree) The climate on this planet has changed thousands of time, more dramatically than it is changing now, before man even existed.

( agree to this part) One eruption of a super volcano changes the climate.

( disagree) Man will over-populate himself into starvation long before he alters the climate through his actions or in-actions enough to threaten the existence of the species.

I think mass area centered populations pollute heavily. and climate are linked by the way we live, pollute and contaminate our environment.

there are various websites with lots of data on the subject.

I do know here, the summers are 'extreme in heat" and it last for a long time, in 2011 we had more than 100 days consecutive of over 100 degrees ( 37.7 c).

The Spring in 2013 was very unstable, the summer was again outrageously hot !!! It is unpredictable here in the U.S Southern State I live.

I like having my Motorcycle, but truthfully, this is just not a good location for having it. When I first bought it I thought the weather was great the first year I had it, but since then. It has simply been crazy weather. I don't even trust going too far, because the weather may change before I get back home. (i've gotten caught in very very heavy rain, when it was pretty blue and white skies when I first left home).

I think Globally, we may need to worry about 'food productions and fresh water supplies'... between weather, contamination and other methods and forms of pollution.... its a challenge. Hot weather burn up various crops.... so the cost of ( fresh organic) food things continue to be very costly, and the price of 'fruit is high" continually, all year.
