Heavy rainfall over here

What time was it? 4pm on March 30th, 2014, before a rainstorm.

There were also hailstones in my hometown this morning.

Guess the DVD player will be the product of the declining industries soon. Actually it already is in China now. I don't see many people still using DVD player to watch movies often because now a lot of videos, movies and dramas are available on the internet. It's so convenient so why should we still have to buy an extra machine. As for me I just got a season IPTV account not long before. It provides more than 200 channels around the world in different languages. Now I can watch CNN, BBC and channels of HK, Taiwan, Macau, Japan as long as I want. I am not brainwashed by the Chinese government.
You don't seem to be brainwashed... you do your own thinking...

lots of people use 'streaming video" programming. I still like DVD because I can watch it as much as I want, when I want.
They do have many "streaming Programs" which offer lots of options as well as the ability to watch movies over and over.

Of course, I still have some old VHS, but they are in a closet in another room, maybe one day I will get a program and convert them so I can put them on a TeraDrive.

In some ways places like Japan, S.Korea and parts of China may even have more signal strength or bandwith to their system, because some system in this country can have a variety of glitches.

I know cable can be a problem, too many commercials, sometimes in bad weather the system may go out, and the same I hear from people who have the Direct TV satellite dishes.
The cable system also wants to charge extra money for various Movie Channels, which have more current releases, and they also have the Pay per view.

I see people watching shows on their phones, as well as on their computers.
I don't know, but I think, some of it uses up the 'monthly data limits".. so now many offer or claim unlimited data, but after 2.5 gigs, it slows down, or maybe it may be 250mb it slows down. But I know many of the systems have a way to increase the cost if you use more bandwidth and higher data downloads.

Eventually, the DVD will fade away like the CD, and like the VHS... because companies are finding with a 'monthly fee", they can make more money, because people will always pay extra, to get the things they put on 'special add on channels".
networks systems are buying each other up like crazy, until eventually someone will have a dominant monopoly and people won't have many options except to choose among the controls these companies set up as viewing packages.

My cable, has a package called 'digital", and then they offer, "digital preferred", the only difference is they duplicate the Channels, where you can watch it in regular digital or HD. then they may add a few extra channels.

Example, I have both, the only difference is, on one I get two history channels and the military channel, and on the other one, I get two history channels but no military channel. they do the same with a few other channels. It's a mess.

I recently bought a 'windows system cell phone", I did not want the Android, because most of my other software is windows, but they still have not made the phones capable of doing enough, I will probably buy a tablet sooner or later. but currently, I have to change my computer, because Microsoft will no longer support WindowsXP. So I have to go to Windows7 or Window8 or 8.1

The problem with that, is you have to re-load everything, Windows 8 will not overwrite Windows.. so that becomes a hassle.

one good thing about the DVD, it does not matter how much it rains or storms the movie still plays, UNLESS the electrical power goes out.

It rained here very hard last week ( Friday Evening). I looked out the front door and the wind was blowing the water which made it even worst. my mother called and said "hail was falling at her place". It is amazing how much water came down and it poured for a long time. I finally put a movie in the DVD and fell asleep.

People can say what they want, but there is something going on with the climate.

The best things for this kind of weather would be a good happy spirited, even tempered mate, along with having some good movies to put in the DVD. and hope that it does not turn into a tornado or something.
