So Damn Lucky by Dave Matthews Band

Everything's different
My head in the clouds
I hit this corner
With my foot on the gas
I started sliding, I lose it
Everything's different just like that
Oh my God, wait and see
What will soon become of me
Frozen heart
Screaming wheels
Does that screaming come from me
So damn lucky, when went on ahead
You say, you say
I see you later
I heard what you said a few minutes later
I'm sliding
Everything's different, again
Oh my God, wait and see
What will soon become of me
This frozen heart
Screaming wheels
But does that screaming come from me
I'm dizzy from all this spinning
Now I'm thinking that you did all you could
When you said my love
Take it slowly
OK, is what I said
Oh my God, wait and see
What will soon become of me
Frozen heart
Screaming wheels
But does that screaming come from me
Take me back, just before I was spinning
Take me back, just before I got dizzy
Take me back, amazing what a minute can do
Just like you
So, so, so, so, up, around, around, around
Amazing what a minute can do
Around, around, around
Ok....

I was watching all morning several great episodes of Black Adder circa WW1.
"Life is a Bowl of Cherries" is next on my list...song from Life Of Brian Monty Python fame

I was introduced to Black Adder by a fellow worker in Saudi Arabia who was from there and educated in Birmingham. We would sequester ourselves in the office in the middle of the desert and find these episodes and.....laugh laugh laugh. He was caught up in the craziness and born in USA, dad was working on PHD, and ...yet there we were he a Saudi citizen yearning for a rational world while technical and complying with everyone's will....and pressures....limited options....working for only one company for the rest of your life.....

watching Mr. bean ? some said we are in the WW3 at the moment obviously it's in different form. You seem like going backward watching and listening to golden goldies ? "Life is a Bowl of Cheeries" reminds me of Charlie Chaplin when the Great Depression took place. History repeats itself ?

I was watching "Parasite" and I was so impressed that I have done some researches in Korean movies, then leading me to watch the recent popular Netflix Korean dream "Kingdom" I was thinking "Hollywood" may be past tense now, there are much more great stories and production elsewhere.

I lived almost all my life in the shadow of LA LA land-Hollywood. I have family who have been in and about the "illusion" business...though I am not. They say there are only 10 films a year to be made....yet everyone has had have life story or screenplay (this is really funny or what passes for art or common culturally accepted themes)...there is an an implicit vetting process based on perceived popular culture. On one end of the biz there are the Weinstein's Bros, whereas it was Warner Bros or Metro Goldwyn Mayer, etc. with their peculiar fondness for what they execute per their biz plans. Harvey Weinstein of recent acclaim, AKA "Me TOO" fame, had quite a string of winning choices/insights with "the casting couch" approach and selection process apparent....but decadent. Not passing judgment and yet they carry on as they have in the past.
What you say is Fresh Bollod in an old game. It will succeed where there others fade away...for the best of reasons..it doesn't reflect our values.

.....Fresh Blood in an old game....they will succeed (newcomer Korean film makers with their endearing life stories to add to the common culture) as others will in the future.
It is validated by the latest cultural values...maybe a return to what makes us human.....

Missing all those great "Hollywood" production, I still remember my first watching movie "The Poseidon Adventure" inspiring me to learn how to hold my breath in my bath. Then scary "Jaws", and my admired character "Indiana Jones". "Forest Gump" "The Silence of Lamb" .....lots and lots....

I guess movies offer imaginary spaces for audiences to escape from the reality and sometimes movies raises issues for audiences to explore further. Few years ago I watched "Her" and still thinking about it will happen eventually in the near further.

You choice of Her the film had the following comment:
"This movie isn't really about science fiction or robots or relationships, really. It's about loneliness and emotions and it left me feeling more alone than ever but it also made me feel like that was okay. How often can a film do that?"

Must be an interesting cast with Phoenix as actor and Scarlett as the voice of the AI operating system.

Our Separateness (as humans) especially when we sleep in the middle of the night yield emotions of being alone in the universe....except for family.

Loneliness and the imperative to be human make demands on our pxhe.

Update to previous comments:
The operating system with AI customized to assume awareness or consciousness...is a big reach, from what I know about AI from engineering grad school. Will not happen in my lifetime pretty confident.
But, we all know someone who feels that the AI in the toaster could emulate their life in reflection....smile...mean girl.
I felt a sense of despair with the main protagonist that transcends simple loneliness...the only antidote to our mortality is to relate to others with our shared mortality...the human condition. Knowing the end is there ....and consoling each other is the only emollient is our shared tragic condition.
The beauty of the our finiteness (and how we live/love) visavis the operating system's eternality, did have a moment of realization that could have been explored further if I was the writer...the ending sequence of the two on the top of the buildings surveying the environment of the cityscape .. the metal and glass ....crystal palace, rational behavior....is OK but I would made a case for stillness and acceptance...with reverence for our humanity and how fragile we are.

My quick two cents....7 out 10 starts for me....not quite SCI FI more a story on humanity.

I found my Epiphone guitar out from the loft that I haven't play it since 1989 time flies........ I still have my Yamaha keyboard at my storage since 2014....

I can't even remember the chord of "John Denver Today" which is my first guitar lesson. It is said learning instrument can reduce the halt dementia related condition. Perhaps, it's good time to start playing again during the lockdown here. I don't think it's going to lockdown at your end ??

The days pass now with telephone calls and PC screens....in the presence of "my room". Remember the song by Brian Wilson....My Room, his bedroom.....

Smile, enjoy our beautiful life!
