And on second thought, it certainly is easier to address the concerns of those you love and are close to you than worrying about everyone else.

Thinking about it, as when I was in grad school a class in behavioral management, they actually did the very radical exercise of having our funerals in class.....they closed the lights off, they took a cool ten minute meditative space before our future funerals began - from a pre-recored music and all - and our psychology profs read out the generic sermon/lectures starting "he/she was ...., loyal faithful husband/wife, etc., successful business partner, will be remembered as ...."

It was apparently an exercise that was novel as the Prof was trying to get tenure, but after 20 minutes in, half the class was in tears....really compelling experience! So traumatic they stopped it and they offered psychological therapy references to anyone who wanted to see a therapist.

I wasn't in tears but it affected me for months. An exercise in what MEANING is in YOUR LIFE! Taking life seriously and not squandering it on trifles and succumbing to marketing ads and Myths of SUCCESS....empathy is connection and redemption is possible.

 I was wondering and try to question what is "True Success" and why people are longing and obsessed about "True Success". Perhaps, "True Success" for some are wealth and power like Warren Buffet. In fact, every time I read his name I think about mouthwatering hot and cold dishes. I guess "True Success" depends on the demands of an individuals. For example, people described recovered from deadly covid-19 that is 'True Success". For me, if I can learn and follow online recipe and making one new delicious dish would be "True Success".

Recently my mother is in A&E combating Pneumonia, I look back her life and I would say she is an inspirational and successful role model. Perhaps, "True Success" is not how you see yourself, on contrary it's how others see you.

Sorry to hear your mom is sick, hope she feels better soon!

Success is a difficult concept, as there are so many options to define oneself. Determining a way to live with yourself is an excellent start, with no fear and or recriminations.

Being happy is major part of being successful---it has to come from within though!
