The cave alone

Italian named tal scholars, in order to cooperate for an experiment, he lived alone in the underground caves for a year; Cave has a spacious laboratory, besides equipped with scientific instruments, also has a living room, bathroom, studio, etc.
A control room, in at the top of the cave on the inside of the researchers through the monitor to observe tal, but you don't have any contact with him. The purpose of this experiment, the main is to observe a person lonely life for a long time below, physiological and psychological changes.
In more than two thousand meters deep cave, surrounding environment was silent, tal alone planting fruits and vegetables every day, writing, watching movies, fitness.... Gradually, he found that while you were like silence and solitude, but really only one person life, began to feel lonely and fear.
Spent a whole year of caves, tal to see the light of day again, he turned pale was thin and gaunt, immune system function to a minimum; If there are two questions at the same time, his brain can't think, in addition, he is depressed, not to talk, though eager to get along with people, but lost the communication ability.
After being cast tal slowly recovering health, recall those days, he said: 'I lived alone for a year, just know, only when interacting with people, to enjoy as a human should be happy! '
This a complete scientific experiments, tal although temporarily lose the ability of interpersonal communication, but also because of the experiment, he deeply understand: the goodness of life, in dealing with people all the time.
Two are better than one, because two people cooperation effect is better. One fall, another person can be lifted him up.... - the bible ecclesiastes chapter 4, 9 ~ 10.

Human contact is a healing force in its own natural vibrancy. Even animals like to have close proximity to other animals.

Just last weekend, I watch as some horses gather under a tree and in the pack was a donkey, they all seem to be very content to share the same space.

We have the capability of our faculties to become and be expressive as well as to help sustain us, and expression and the reciprocation of the feeling of life around us, is an essential part of healthy living.

to appreciate the company of a companion is itself a grace-filled things, it brings the opportunity of things far greater than one might achieve and many times even greater than one being singular can imagine.
The big key is: to - learn to share without expectations destroying appreciation.

Why this is so hard for people, is because often time, people seek out others in a sense of need, more than an acceptance of appreciating.
When our desires are aimed toward sharing, we find our expectations are less and our needs are not so over-dominating... We become free to appreciate.

Hi Grace, interesting post - I hope you dont mind my thoughts coming back to you - across the skys, as it were...
IMHO - caves in a literal sense have always fascinated mankind because of the unknown values - promises (ie., treasure) or challenges.
In a metaphorical sense, caves have been seen in liturgy, science, literature and psychology as transformative....as a development and rebirth into something stronger, with more self awareness (knowledge) and understanding than before entering the "cave"
The process of childbirth can, I think, be viewed as transformative too. ie., the reigniting of a human soul. From body death (into the cave) to being born as a new physical/emotional force (out of the "cave" or womb) --
Another comparrison that just popped into my mind is the transformation of a caterpiller to a butterfly...
My thoughts about your comments Grace - "2 are better than 1"
- so true!
....but only after each has undergone some sort of transformation on their own.Wouldnt this allow for two "fuller" human beings to be united?
Transforming is a painful beauty.
