From inside China, I've never been able to open Chinese FriendFinder without using a VPN. But I've communicated with Chinese women at Chinese FriendFinder who don't even know what a VPN is so I've no idea why I must use one but they don't......just weirdness in general.

The China Firewall has nothing to do with Communism. In fact, in many ways the U.S. is more socialist than China.

I don't think it's anything to do with socialism, it's all down to the dictatorship of the government. In their words, they aim to stabilise the society. I have never lived in China so I don't know, but I can see more Chinese people are allow to leave China for travel and study than many decades ago. So it seems improving in a way. .
