The underlying reason why Chinese women seek Western-style love or marriage is the deep-rooted patriarchal ideology and discrimination against women in China. In my growth and schooling age , my feeling about discrimination against girls is not very strong until I grew up and started to find my spouse. After my boyfriend and I broke up in 2011, I started a long blind date process at the behest of my parents. At that time, I was 27 years old, and I had a very bad market in China's marriage market. Girls over 25 years of age are usually considered "inferior" girls. In China, there is a term called "leftover girl", which is used to describe older single women. After 30 years old ,your chances of finding a satisfying partner are very little. And I am not only discriminated against because of my age, but also because of my appearance. Even more ridiculous is that Chinese men still take great importance to whether women are virgins. An older woman is usually less likely to be a virgin, so they are unpopular. Of course, the situation of divorced women is even worse in China. They are regarded as "used women". Divorced men or unmarried men either do not consider divorced women as the first choice . The situation is even worse for divorced women with children. Because of Chinese men's patriarchal ideology, they regard other people's children as their own enemies, so they refuse to raise other people's children and give them love.
