Are you an atheist?

Are you an atheist?

I know that in some western countries, it is risky to discuss faith in public.

In China, we are all born atheists. We do not have a strong cultural atmosphere of religious belief, and communist education advocates materialism. When we grow up, most of us do not believe in Marxism-Leninism. Some believe in money, some believe in power, some believe in romance, and some believe in western capitalism and democracy. And I myself probably believe in science and technology. Generally speaking, we are all very secular.

It is difficult for a man who has never believed in God to accept any kind of religious belief. If you were to discuss the Bible with me, I would say it sounds like a science fiction story. There are many similar myths in ancient China, but no one will take them as true history.(Does this also imply the absurdity of religious history from one side?). Of course, I think religion still has its positive meaning, especially when you feel weak or lonely in spirit, it can give you strength.

Yes, I am an Atheist. If during earthquake, tsunami, hurricane, fire, ... you kneed down and pray but not run away, you will die. If prayer can save you and get what you wish for, you don't need to run, no need to study and pass your exam, ....

In China, most people believe in Buddhism. Chinese was not born to be atheists but their government forced them to destroy and burn down the temples during the "Cultural Revolution" 10 years. Their government told poor people to rob and kill the rich people. You are too young, you were born after the "Cultural Revolution" was over. People not allowed to talk about those cruel events, so you think Chinese are atheists. No, majority of Chinese are Buddhists. Open your books, the history would tell you the truth. You can ask your senior people who dare to tell you the truth.

In Italy, most people are Catholic. We know Roman crucified Jesus (the god's son) according to the Bible. However, in 313 AD, the Emperor Constantine issued the Edict of Milan, which accepted Christianity: 10 years later, it had become the official religion of the Roman Empire. Do you know the Catholic Pope cut off Galileo Galilei's middle finger because he said the Earth is round shape NOT flat in 16 Century ( 400 years ago) because at that time, people thought the earth is flat and at the center of Solar system. No, the Sun is in the center not Earth. People didn't know science at that time. Now, we know the earth is round shape, the people and ocean water are not fall off because the magnetic force, so when we jump up, we will fall to ground. The science explained earthquakes (the two big plate underground moved), hurricanes or typhoon (the high pressure and low pressure wind become a strong current). There is a museum in Tuscany, Italy that stores Galileo Galilei's middle finger. Roman killed thousand of Christians in Colosseum by wild animals. Saint Sebastian was a Christian and been killed by Roman with arrows (I showed the picture in my blog). Saint George was a Christian but he was a Roman soldier so he had been cut off his head (there are many churches in Sicily for St. George). Human believe in religion in hope to get reward that by believe in him, so that you can go to heaven after deaths. We sent astronauts to the Moon, but we didn't see the heaven. Scientists don't believe in religion of any form.

In USA, most people are Christians in many different denominations, i.e. Evangelical Orthodoxy, Jewish, ...... too many to mention. They are under the influence of their parents, friends, teachers, neighbors, ....

In Mid-East, Indonesia, Malaysia, most people believe in Muslim or Islamism. Due to ISIS, or ISIL massacred citizens in many countries in Mid-East, so many Americans and Westerners despised Muslims in general. There were many killing events in USA, France, England, Belgium, .... because ISIS had recruited many young Westerners to Iraq and those trained Westerners went back to USA or Europe and made many massacre killings. Trump decided to ban 7 countries predominated in Muslim enter to USA. It is difficult to know who is nice Muslims who is cruel ISIS.

In India, most people believe in Hinduism. They are vegetarians, no meat, no fish, ... I have co-workers pharmacists who are purely vegetarians. They believe in reincarnation 轉世, 輪迴說.

In Israel, they are all Jewish 猶太教. There are many Jewish in USA, most of them become atheist Jewish, more and more. They don't keep Kosher food rules or go to Synagogues much. German killed million of Jewish during WWII. I went to Italy and been told that many Italians hid Jewish when German search for Jewish to kill. Israel is a very small country, but they are very smart in financial.

Many other countries have so many religions that I can't mention here.

Maybe, in 1,000 more years, people will understand there is no scientific evidence of god's existence, they will become atheist. If you Google the key words "more highly educated people become atheists", you can read the articles. Unfortunately, China has removed Google out of China 13 or 14 years ago. I learned a lot of knowledge from Google.

Honesty is the best policy.

I am not an atheist even though I don't believe in any form of religious, we human capability is far too limit to understand our universe and science is still needed to discover. I wont totally disregard the theory of other deities exist. For instance, we can only see three dimensional space. In fact, the fifth dimensional space is proved by science. We human are not equipped to view all of these existence. So I won't rule out other deities exist with us so I won't call myself an atheist. I only believe in our mother nature that provide us everything we generally ignore and forget. Echo to your Christmas Eve message, hope we all live in peace together.

In conclusion, I would quote our Queen Christmas speech that I totally agree with "Even with the most deeply-held differences, treating the other person with respect and as a fellow human being is always a good first step towards greater understanding."

Yes....it's the most logical position to take. Even if one religion is correct, all of the others must be wrong. Science constantly re-evaluates itself and corrects errors. Religion does not.
