Do You like History or Crafts or Cooking?
One of the most interesting Social Media Tool that I discovered is Pinterest. It's where you can pull different photo and videos of your hobbies, history, travel places, and how to make recipes or crafts.
My interests are in Japanese History including Samurai, Women Samurai, Geisha, the Hiroshima Bombing, Internment Camps in the U.S. during WWII, Tokyo Street Scenes. I also love jewelry that's too expensive for me to buy, Antiques, Disneylands, and Haunted Houses that are abandoned.
I love history and learning more about other parts of the world. You can search through Pinterest to discover new things as well.
People add on thousands of photos in their Boards. So it's very interesting in looking at different Boards and you can capture other people's photos that they have collected.
Go ahead and discover the World and your Interests further.

Arranging my Dad's Funeral

It's Year of the Rooster! So how are you celebrating the Lunar New Year? I went to the Hiroshima Club Lunch in Seattle. My Dad passed away before Christmas, so my start of the New Year was to arrange his funeral Buddhist Style. He had fallen down the stairs at home and cracked his skull. So he was on ICU for 3 days before I had to make the decision to unplug the respirator. He would not want to be plugged in either since he was very active and driving the day before. Arranging the cremation was easy since my friend owns a funeral home. I also worked at the cemetery before selling plots and funeral packages.
I was super busy since my Mother was also ill the day before the Memorial. So I was at the her hospital in the evening make the Collage of Family Photos with myself, my brother and parents.
I also had to pick up his Urn as well and deliver it to the Church and print the programs last minute.
Fortunately, My Mom was discharged to make it to the service. She was happy to be there with a roomful of relatives, family friends and a few of my friends. A couple of friends from high school, whom I don't see on a regular basis showed up. Good thing we had enough food. My aunt bought some sandwiches, fruit and veggie platter too. I catered the Chicken Karaage, Chow Mein and Fried Rice. Then I did ask some relatives to bake cookies and make mochi cake. So other people showed up and brought home baked and store bought cookies and sweets. There was too much desserts.
I'm glad the only major thing that went wrong was that I was late, getting my Mom from the hospital and there was no wheelchair to borrow. So I had to make 3 phone calls to get her wheelchair from her group home there for her to use. Our Church has a Chair Lift installed, so it worked out. I have experience in Event planning but I've never arranged a Funeral before. There is strict Buddhist protocol too. We did the 7th Day Memorial after the regular service.
There's a 49th Day and another Day Memorial before one year. Then a One Year Memorial, which I might hire the priest to do.
Fortunately, my Dad bought his plot back in the 70's when the price was very low compared to now where his cemetery is. So that's the major expense if you plan on doing a burial.
My older brother has not been helping me in doing any arrangements, cleaning the house, or handling my Dad's Estate financials or taking my Mom to the doctors. He did not even visit the hospital when my Dad was dying.
Anyways, I had other long distant relatives show up and my Dad's only brother in Seattle showed up after being absent for many many years. Such is life. I'm glad I'm moving forward everyday in closing down my Dad's estate and that I understand investments and finances.
Happy New Year to All!

API Celebration 2014

Hi All
I haven't written a blog in a couple of years. We just had our API Heritage Month Celebration at Seattle Center. API stands for Asian Pacific Islander. There's various programs around the U.S. all month long at different college campuses as well.
Seattle Center draws a lot of tourist who visit the Space Needle, EMP and we had the stage performances in the Armory, the Former Center House. Every month, there's an ethnic Festival there at Seattle Center. I'm also part of the Seattle Cherry Blossom Festival, recruiting Volunteers. I don't have much time or energy to perform my Japanese dance at this festival, like I have in the Past.
This year, I took video of our main act at the API event and posted it on You Tube. You can search for Lions Ambition group with API Celebration to see it. But here's a couple of photos I took.

Seattle Seahawks at the Superbowl

I haven't posted a blog for a couple of years. But this year, our Seattle Football team the Seahawks won the championships and made it to the Superbowl. I usually don't watch Football, but this occasion was special. My friends here in Seattle was so excited to watch the games leading up to the Superbowl.

I take an effort to make it to a Superbowl Party and watched it on TV. It was a good game with impressive performance of the young team of the Seahawks.

A few days after the Team returned to Seattle, they had a parade to welcome this back and to Celebrate. The 12th Man Flag flew on top of the Space Needle and the Seahawks Colors of Blue and Green on buildings in downtown. First the news said they expect about 300,000 to attend in downtown Seattle. But more than 700,000 people came down to watch the parade and cheer the team. The parade ended at the Century Link Stadium, next to Chinatown. They had a program inside the stadium. I watched the crowd from way on top of Beacon Hill, away from the crowd. I had to meet friends later for Happy Hour, so I left early to Lake Union to the Irish Bar.

I watched the Century Link program on TV at the Bar. I was really proud to be in Seattle to witness the Celebration on TV and hear my friends who did go down to the parade talk about it later.

Tonight I first went to see Jazz with my Divorce Social Group. Then I was invited to go clubbing in the reopening of a club called Pnk, in the Pacific Place Mall. Every Fri. is Asian Night where one of my acquaintances promotes to young Asians. So the place was packed! I only stayed for one hour and half, before it was getting loud and crazy inside there. It was a meat market crowd, but there's were groups of cliches, dancing together.
Have a great Summer Everyone!

Ask yourself, what makes you happy and motivated to get up in the morning? I've been feeling sick these past two days, so I wasn't very motivated to do my job or go to work to do Cold Calls.

Last Month, I went to see three motivational speakers. Omar mentioned
the driving success on sales. He has ran many businesses and now a millionaire living at Boca Raton, Florida. Only the super wealthy live there.

James spoke of finding extra income by renting out rooms in your house. Average people can do this. I'm renting from my cousin.

One woman, Niruka spoke of the importance of making yourself happy
first, before you can perform, and soar.

You have to work on yourself first, in order to be happy and be successful in life. She touched on more of your spiritual being. It's important to stay grounded, in order to be focused on your job. I sometimes lack focus in my sales work, so it's been tough. But eventually, I'll get the hang of it.

Enjoyed Our Company Party

I work in a funeral business. You can call me a Funeral Diva now.

Tonight we had a great company party with Awards Ceremony for the Top Sales and Operations Employees. The top managers all used some great sense of humor and inspired us to go out into the community and do the extra mile for families.

We also had a contest who could of made the best Valentines Table. My funeral home didn't win that prize.

They served us a buffet of salad, pasta, potato salad, prime rib, cookies, cakes and V-Day candy to take home.

I think everyone had a great time and people had high achievements for last year and last Quarter. I just started in this business at the end of November and one of the few Asians working in sales.

It seems we run at a lean staff too. But I'm on the lookout in recruiting good sales people into the business.

There isn't a shortage of customers that's for sure!

May you have a Happy Valentines Day! Go out anyways with friends on V-Day!

SuperBowl Party and Dating Issues

Today, for Super Bowl, I went to a new acquaintance's Townhouse for a party. So I met a few new people and some old friends too.

I'm not into football and the teams I don't know well. So I chatted with other guests, played pool. We discussed about the Dating Scene in Seattle and what people had experienced, their expectations.

The host one time had a discussion between a group of men and women. I asked him if he will host another meeting like that one, so I can also facilitate, as a Dating coach. It would be fun to hear out complaints, from the opposite sex about Dating.

The host of the party told us his main complaint of women that he might chase first. His expectation is that the women would return the favor of initiating the call or text, to tell him that they are still interested in him. If they do anything, and keep waiting for him to do all the work, he would drop them as a potential date.

So some of the women said they are more traditional and expect the man to ask them out. For me, I rather sometimes take control and ask the guy out for a casual dinner or date, since maybe I like laid back men.

I basically like to make the decision and not wait so much, partly since I'm a bit impatient. Sometimes if you wait too long, then the opportunity is lost since I know a few of my Male friends have gotten married after their divorces, within 3 -5 years. So maybe I sort of missed out in dating them. I did keep in contact with them basically. So now they are truely Just
Friends.

So ladies, don't wait forever to tell a guy that you are interested in him since he can go forward in meeting other women too!

Valentine's Day Coming Soon! 2012

Hi All! Valentines Day is coming soon. It's the end of January when I wrote this blog. Have you found your sweetheart yet?

If not, don't give up. A perfect match will come someday. I'm not afraid to spend Valentine's Day alone again this year, after my divorce 2 years ago.

I've met some interesting men on this site, in the 7 months that I've been here. But most live overseas or across the ocean. There aren't too many men in Seattle registered here. Funny thing though, I did see one of my acquaintances who lives in Seattle, just join, without any of his knowledge that I was on here.

I didn't know he was into Asian women. So I did wish him good luck.

Best of luck in finding your Sweetheart! Also, don't be too depressed if you are all alone on V-Day. You can still go out with a group of friends or throw a V-Day party for you single friends.
