Are they really Color Blind?

I've read a few profiles where a Caucasian member stated they were (racially) color blind. However, they also stated they ONLY date people of the Black race.
Isn't that a really deep thought?
Let's call this PREFERENCE and they have the right to do this.

The truth is, they actually see color, because they only date people OF COLOR. Right?

If a person has/had no preference to race, they would truly be color blind.

The person who says they are color blind yet only date Blacks, is (in my opinion) misinformed to the statement of color blind.

That's how I see it.

That doesn't sound earth shattering... now does it?
86 year old Hugh Hefner has married his girlfriend 26 year old Crystal Harris in an intimate ceremony on New Year's Eve at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles.

Congratulations Hugh and Crystal !!

McRib is pork + 69 other ingredients...

McDonalds has brought back the McRib sandwich and Yahoo did a story about the 'cult success' of this manufactured pork sandwich. Packed with 500 calories and 980 grams of salt, you can download the actual list of ingredients from the McDonalds website.

I noticed they are back on the menu in South Florida and there's a link to find out if they are available in your neighborhood.

What scares me the most is they actually taste good!

SOULMATE...

An 'overused' phrase in internet dating: "Looking for my soulmate" Yes, how true is that?

I looked it up in the dictionary. Soulmate (or soul mate) refers to a person with whom one has a strong affinity, shared values and tastes, life energy, philosophy, and personality. I perceive this as spiritual or non-sexual in nature. However, it also defines that soulmates often have a romantic bond. No dispute here.

Loving your soulmate is perhaps the best of both worlds.

I often use a Chinese/English translator and I find it lacking in the finite definitions we use in English. Soulmate and lover both translate to lover in Chinese. Hopefully, they know the difference.

Not to change the subject of my blog, many English words get lost in the translation. Maybe, it's the limit of the software and not the language. For example, gate and door have the same word/meaning. Boil and cook have the same meaning. Actually, I found this out when I was introduced to Szechuan style cooking... everything is boiled. I think the only other option is fried. Grilled and sauteed has no equivalent to my translation software.

Back to soulmates and women. It would appear women are more interested in finding a soulmate than a lover. I think guys are different... very different. When given the choice of a lover or a (non-sexual) soulmate, they would take the lover every time.

Hmmm... difficult choice.

YOU MUST LOVE "_________________"

I'm scanning profiles again and see women typically demand many things from the men they seek.
For example he MUST love dogs. That is the number one demand.
He could be unemployed and no transportation... but he must love dogs.
Right after that is cats... followed by animals (in general)
This morning I read a new one. Must love cats and books. WTF?? Cats and books?
What a combination because there are only 5 men on the planet that could qualify that demand and 2 are believed to be gay.
I thought the "Must love Harley's and fine dining" was nearly impossible but cats and books should win an award.

Somewhere near the top of the list is "Moonlit walks on the beach"
Now, I'm a logical guy and some dating sites have as many as 400,000 people online during peak hours.
If a high percentage of the people online actually made dates together... and the guys honored the demand of Moonlit walks on the beach... I calculate women and their dates would line up at every public beach FOUR ROWS DEEP!!
Beach parking lots would be full and Police would have to detour congested traffic away from the beach.

Internet dating... the impossible dream?

I would like to thank the management of AFF

我想感谢AFF的管理。
Over the course of this year, I have reported 20+ fake profiles and they have closed all of them. There are many bad people on dating sites and their goal is to make people believe their lies and to send money to them.
Without the tools from google and tineye to search where their fake photos are elsewhere on the internet, this would not be possible.
Without the help of the staff at Chinese FriendFinder to quickly close these accounts, unsuspecting members would be victims of their schemes.
I realize it's their job but as the year closes, I would like to say THANKS for their help to make Chinese FriendFinder a safer place for dating, friendship and blogging.

我正感谢AFF 管理。 他们在这里消除坏成员。

The foreigner with the short sleeve shirt...

That would be me.
During my Nanning China trip, I went to see the parents of a good friend.
It was one of the warmest days there (probably in the mid to upper 70's) and I wore a short sleeve shirt.
I carried a jacket planning the evening would be cooler. Most people on the street wore heavy jackets, but it really wasn't cold.
It was early afternoon when we arrived at the condo (by taxi) and some people were in the courtyard that knew my friend. They chatted briefly and there was mention of letting one of the young (in the courtyard) feed the chickens.
What chickens I said?
All along the side of the courtyard were (what appeared to me as) storage rooms or... mini garages.
They opened up one door and it revealed a double row chicken coop!
I asked if the birds were for the eggs or food and the answer was the eggs.
They often trade with the other people at the apartment/condo.

After meeting the parents, we asked if they were hungry and suggested dinner... my treat.
As homebody folks, they wanted to stay in so we went out for food.
Within walking distance was a huge open market so we picked up fresh meat, fish and vegetables.

Back at the condo, I was in charge of the grille and my friend was setting up a 'hot-pot'.
If you are familiar with Szechuan style cooking, it originates from Central and Southwest China.
Canton or Cantonese, it's typically boiled food in a large bowl with water and spices.
We chopped all the foods and started cooking them.
Typically, my friends parents prepare small meals with rice, but today we were cooking enough for many.

My friend was boiling fish and vegetables and I was setting up the grill.
I turned up the gas grill and opened the 2 vent fans over the range.
The vent was on the wall facing the courtyard.
Cooking with oil and spices, I repeatedly tipped the wok making flames come up a few inches over the food and the smoke was blowing out to the courtyard.

I have always said... if you cannot cook a thing, saute onions and mushrooms and people will think you actually know what you are doing!

A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door... it seems the neighbors had all heard a foreigner with a short sleeve shirt was inside and they knew it was HIS COOKING they smelled all through the courtyard!

My friend said they wanted to invite themselves in but she apologized to the neighbors and told them it was a private dinner. They weren't offended but went away happy that some excitement was happening in their condo!

Thanks for reading my blog.

I don't remember my grandfather having this much nose hair...

Unlike me, he had a jungle growing out of his ears!
Heredity...it's a bitch.
It doesn't matter how well you're educated or how much money you make.
If your genes say 'lots-o-nose hair' that's what you're gonna get.
A while back, I bought a mini (battery operated) shaver with a nose hair trimmer attachment... but I cannot find that attachment.
I have this special luck for misplacing things.
We talked about it at lunch today.
Special tool. Any tool.
Metric crescent wrench? I've bought two or three over the years.
Where are they now?? Who (the fu*k) knows.
If I buy another tomorrow, I'm sure when I go to put it away, the others I couldn't find will all be in the same toolbox I checked in 7 or 8 times before I ran out to buy a new one!

Maybe I should buy a new blowtorch so I can burn off these nose hairs.

Thanks for reading my blog.

No birds in Nanning? 南宁鸟在哪里?

我这个月穿越南宁。 我没看见任何鸟。 我期望在购物中心看见鸽子。

Nanning is a South city in Guangxi Province. I was there nearly 12 days this month and I cannot recall seeing any birds.
Not one bird. Why?
I could understand if it were Beijing in Winter... but this is Nanning, The Green City.
I went to the park, walked to the huge shopping center with Wal-Mart and no birds. I would have expected to see some pigeons on the rooftops near the mall, waiting for food left on the ground.

What a great experience. I should be home in less than 28 hours.
I will arrive Sunday morning with enough time to wash clothes and get ready for work on Monday. Hopefully, I will get enough sleep on the plane so I won't be very affected by jetlag.
