Venezuelan Chicha...

I did a blog on another site about rice pudding. It's something my mother was good at making. The recipe involved rice, whole milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract and (if I remember correctly) an egg or two.
She would cook the rice first, then add it to a large 'oven safe' bowl and bake it until the top started to brown.

One of the comments to my blog was from an English speaking woman from Venezuela who linked a YouTube video of a cold recipe for rice pudding called Chicha.

In the recipe they took cooked rice, sugar, water, milk, condensed milk, cinnamon and ice cubes. Most of it was done in a blender and the ice cubes added after.

I cut lots of corners, leaving out the sugar and ice cubes. It was in the blender for a few rounds as I needed to add more milk so it would pour.

I was good... the flavor was different than the cooked version of rice pudding, but it was quick and easy!

Room temperature...

How do you calculate room temperature?
It depends on the room. South Florida had a cold front move through this weekend with freezing temperatures across the state. Currently, it is 39F outside and the temperature inside is 64, mostly due to the high winds blowing into the jalousie window in my front door.

My door faces the north and cold fronts normally come from the north. If you put your hand near the jalousie you can feel the wind passing through the glass slats.
I know, that is not very energy efficient in the summer especially when the cool air escapes from inside.

Coming up this Tuesday, February 1st, 2022 is the Chinese new year.

Depending on who you ask, it has different pronunciations and interpretations.

"Happy Chinese New Year" in Mandarin is: xin nian (new year) kuai le (happy)
Pronounced shin nee-an kwai le.
The Cantonese version is sun nin fai lok- pronounced san knee fy loc

Many people associate the Cantonese phrase Gong hei fat choy as happy new year, but it's actually a wish for prosperity to the person you say it to.
In Mandarin Chinese, it’s Gong xi fa cai (pronounced gong she fa tsai).

Either way, millions of Chinese will be up in the middle of the night cleaning house and preparing for a celebration and to some that lasts for a week!

There are Chinese zodiac signs and the Tiger is known as the king of all beasts in China and the zodiac sign for Tiger is a symbol of strength, exorcising evils, and braveness. Many Chinese will be wearing hats or shoes with a tiger image for good luc
2022 is a year of the Water Tiger. It starts from February 1st, 2022, and ends on January 21st, 2023. A Water Tiger year occurs every 60 years.

So kung, mung, sung, or however you say it... Happy Chinese New Year!

Blocking a fire hydrant with your BMW...

Every driver knows that blocking a fire hydrant could get you a ticket. In some states the fine is more than $110.

That doesn't appear to phase BMW drivers as they've become daringly notorious for parking near (and sometimes blocking) hydrants. The risk of a ticket would be nothing to someone who drives a vehicle valued at more than $100,000.

If you've seen a fire hose filled with water, it resists bending and at times unyielding. Therefore the connection to the hydrant is as direct as possible without curves or kinks. In an emergency, firefighters don't have time to play with BMW drivers blocking hydrants and they have been known to bust through side windows so they can get a 'straight shot' connection to the blocked hydrant.

Last week, I noticed an new promotion/advertisement about being a Top Fan.
Okay, what is all about?
I clicked the link see some Top Fans in my area.
Fan one has no profile photo.
Fan two is facing away from the camera.
Fan four is using a stolen photo of Ann B. Mateo who is famous as a gamer and model living in the Philippines.

Jumping down to Fan twenty seven is 'a woman of high moral integrity'
I reported this profile several times because it contains a stolen photo of porn star Eva Lovia.

Who can you trust?

What started this off is the woman in the advertisement.
Her name is Samantha Saint and she was a Penthouse playmate turned porn star.

At one point, I was a member of 6 different dating sites. I am down to two. With all the exposure I have seen many different types of scammers.

From a previous blog, I received some comments about scammers and what to look for to avoid them. The reason why is not all are noticeable at first. Some take a few messages or video chat before you realize the person you are talking to is a fake.

I plan to post that information in a future blog.

Tonight, I am posting a screen shot of some members who viewed my profile a few days ago.

Anti-Vaxx fear mongering...

Vaccines are now available combat the COVID-19 pandemic the world is faced with. However, if you been following the news, a part of the population been going on social media spreading all kinds of misinformation regarding the virus.

I think we are past ' is a hoax' and 'Masks offer no protection' and lock-downs are imprisonment.

We are into bigger lies such as 'Bill Gates put microchips in the vaccine and when you are near a 5G tower, will turn you into a zombie.

Pretty amazing if you ask me.
My question is: "How do they get one microchip into a needle from a vile of vaccine?"

I am told 'the microchip is already in the needle'

Yes, that is very funny!

Today I read an article that described an anti-vaccination movement that started early in the 19th century where people were skeptical of the smallpox vaccine. They were stating the side effects they dreaded were far more terrifying.
For example: blindness, deafness, ulcers, a gruesome skin condition called "cowpox mange" - even sprouting hoofs and horns.

Publications with artist sketches were passed out (mis) inform the public.

What say ye about the current vaccines reduce the spread and severity of a COVID-19 infection?
