It had been two years since I last went to Singapore. May 2007 was only a transit to the Changi Airport to get on a plane to Amsterdam but this year, I went mainly for the lightings along Orchard Road. It is an annual event in Singapore to celebrate Christmas with lightings of various decorations and designs.

The cool air after the rain was just nice for a long and slow stroll while enjoying the sights of people and also the lightings. The soft music of Christmas medleys were playing in the background which made strolling the more enjoyable. My trusty camera was put to very good use that very night. I have brought back my memories with me and hope you would enjoy them too.

Merry Christmas to Everyone…..

I’ve gone to get my car yesterday evening after work. The radiator fan motor was not working in a good condition, thus the answer to why the temperature needle is almost reaching HOT while the car was not moving during the traffic jam. to change that part, my mechanic told me it’s the original from DENSO, well, got to take his word for it.

I was caught in a terrible traffic jam on the way home from work on Tuesday evening.

Johor Bahru is becoming more like Kuala Lumpur as the day goes by. Furthermore with the construction of the highway contributed to more hassle and bustle of the traffic. Nevertheless, it was most unfortunate that my car had to breakdown at that very moment but I managed to drive into the petrol station to avoid being an additional “contributor” to the massive jam. Two hours later, I got a lift from my niece and left my car at the petrol station for my mechanic to pick it up. I arrived home half an hour later, had my bath and then my dinner. An hour later I received the call from my mechanic assuring me that he is driving back my car to his workshop.

It was indeed a long and weary day for me.

I found a packet of Dutch Stroopwafels in my fridge yesterday left by my visiting sis-in-law. She has since gone back to the Netherlands about a month ago.

I googled how to eat stroopwafels and found a website which taught me how to eat them. So, I tried them out this morning in the office and yes, they taste real delicious but definitely must be with a hot cup of sugarless tea.

So, how do you eat the Dutch Stroopwafels? Make a cup of hot beverage, put the stroopwafels on top of the cup, leave them there for about 5 to 10 minutes. Return after that and enjoy your Stroopwafels...it will be soft and yummy....

I caught the movie "The Tourist" during the long holiday break we had in Malaysia last month. Nope...not at the cinema but at my own home, on DVD.

The main actor is Johnny Depp and the main actress is Angelina Jolie. I enjoyed watching the movie very much. The story line is great and Venice is so beautiful. Simple and sweet!

I wonder does anyone here knits? I crochet during my younger days, managed to make a nice small round table cloth. That's my first and last project. The lazy syndrome again!

Anyway, I thought of learning how to knit. There are a lot of websites showing the steps of knitting etc. My first project will be a scarf, that's always the easiest to begin with for a beginner. If I do become a pro, I might start to sell my projects... hmmm....I am still giving it a thought!

I'll post further if I do manage to start knitting...Btw, any advice or encouragement to proceed or just dump the whole idea ??

It's been a long time!

It's been a long time since I last wrote my last blog.

I've been pretty caught up in my daily routine. It was exhausting initially but it became much more like a norm as I breeze through them everyday.

So, by the time I reaches home, I'm too lazy to think of anything to write. I've enjoyed reading other blogs contributed from the rest of the Chinese FriendFinder members, only the English ones as I belong to the yellow skin group (chinese who can't write & read chinese ).

Well...hope to contribute more articles here in the future when I'm not that lazy....

Reading is one of my favorite hobby. I started to enjoy reading when I was in Primary Three. I usually read books which are hand-me downs from my siblings. Even though they look old and tattered, I don’t mind as long as the pages are still intact. As a , I like to read books written by Enid Blyton, usually lost in its magical land with gnomes, goblins, fairies, walking chair etc.

During my teenage years and also out of curiosity age, I started to read Mills & Boons, the romance paperback during those days. When in the working world, I started to read Sidney Sheldon’s novels and the way he write the stories really made me unable to put down the books. They are written with a combination of mystery and romance and good endings. I have also enjoyed reading books written by Harold Robbins and Jackie Collins too. They are a few good and great authors that I like.

Nowadays, I read magazines more than books. I guess as I’m older now I tend to get a little lazy, thus reading magazine is a shorter route than reading a book.
