So, beware; the greater the progress made by science and
technology, the more aware, careful and vigilant humans must be.
These advances bring many advantages, make many things easier,
but at the same time they also bring many temptations, seductions
and, therefore, dangers. If you want to be in good health, rely
on yourself rather than on medical science. Try especially to
live in conditions that strengthen your body’s defences."

deprive yourself of laughter; it is a powerful tool for
maintaining inner balance and making life lighter. Besides, you
must have observed the fact that where difficulties and incidents
affected you at first, later, when you think about them again or
have to speak of them, you mainly see their funny side."

acquiring anything you want but to feel no joy from it, except

So if you have to choose between these two situations – owning
a lot but no longer being able to appreciate it, or owning very
little and keeping your taste for it – choose the latter, and
the smallest thing will give you joy."

There are always warning signs that temptation is near. They

aware of them. When you eventually find out what these warning
signs are, you will be able to master the situation, for when
